January Events

Optional Event Attendance

Recently we have seen cadets who are signing up for events but not attending. For any event, if you sign up to attend it is expected that you WILL be there. Many times money is put out by the squadron for activities and it is a waste or resources if cadets do not attend. If something changes and you cannot make it to an event you have signed up for you need to inform your Flight Commander or the appropriate person in charge of the event prior. If cadets continue to sign up for something and not show there will be lost priveleges for that cadet in the future.

DAYTON OHIO TRIP (IMPORTANT)
For the March Break Trip to Dayton Ohio it is important that we know names of cadets who are attending by January 19. At this time we also need a PASSPORT number for every cadet going. These need to be sent through customs well in advance. Failure to signup or provide your passport information by this date may result in your not going on the trip.

If there is a problem with the passport timing please see an officer.

Sports

Thursday Jan 8 from 1900h (7:00 pm) to 2100h (9:00pm) there will be a Sports Night at Pine Grove School. Wear suitable sports attire and bring your Health Card. This event is open to all cadets.

There will also be a Sports Day at St. Catharines Collegiate High School on Saturday Jan 17 from 0800h to 1400h (8 am to 2 pm). Wear suitable sports gear and bring your Health Card.

Peaks

Saturday January 10 is going to be the last session at Peaks Indoor Rock Climbing. Please see previous posts for directions and waivers. This event is scheduled primarily for Flight #3 but there will be space for extra cadets who have signed up in advance.

Flying/ Gliding Exams

Flying scholarship exams will be held at the Cadet Hall in WELLAND at 1230h. Cadets should be in full dress.

Fish Fry

There is a Fish Fry at Branch 350 Legion in Port Dalhousie on Friday Jan 9 from 5pm to 8 pm for those cadets that signed up.

New Year

Happy New Year to all. January 5th will be the first training night of 2015. There has been lots of time off so we expect uniforms pressed and boots to be shiny. Also, a reminder for any FSgts who are interested in sitting a WOII board that your 500 word essay/application for the position is due Jan 5 as well.
